35th Law and the Media Seminar 2/20/21

CANCELLED DUE TO THE UNCERTAINTIES CAUSED BY THIS WEEK’S WINTER STORM AND RESULTANT ISSUES.

This year, the annual Law and the Media Seminar will be held virtually on Saturday, February 20, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The theme is “Justice Reform: The Quest for Fairness and Accountability.” The keynote speaker will be Benjamin Crump, civil rights attorney whose has played a role in the cases of George Floyd, Trayvon Martin, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and Robbie Tolan, among others.

The seminar will have two sessions, with Mr. Crump’s talk taking place between sessions. The morning session is titled “The Path Forward for Justice Reform in Houston” and the second “Legal and Practical Developments in Justice System Reporting.”

Registration is free for journalists, students, HBA members and communications professionals. Non-HBA members pay $26 to attend.Attorneys may receive three hours of MCLE and one hours of ethics continuing education.
