Meet the 2026-27 Chapter Board of Director Candidates
Below are statements/bios from each person running to serve on the Greater Houston chapter board for the term beginning Oct. 1, 2026. Ballots will be emailed to all chapter members the morning of Sept. 26; votes will be accepted until 6 p.m. on Sept. 29. For President: Corey Greineisen Corey Greineisen is a longtime Texas journalist with experience in radio, television and print news. A Dickinson High School graduate and McNeese State University alumnus, he began his journalism career in radio before moving into television news, where he worked as an executive producer at KBMT, and later into print journalism. He currently covers Galveston County, reporting on local government, public safety, education and the people and issues shaping the community. His commitment to professional journalism organizations began in college, where he served as vice president of the Society of Professional Journalists chapter and president of the Radio Television Digital News Association chapter. Greineisen is seeking the presidency of the Houston Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists because he believes strong professional organizations are increasingly important as journalists navigate a rapidly changing industry. He wants to help strengthen connections among journalists across the Houston region, create opportunities for mentorship and professional development, advocate for ethical and responsible journalism, and build a chapter that is active, accessible and valuable to journalists at every stage of their careers.
